Firefox is an open source browser that is the best out there right now. There are many extensions for it. Click on the Firefox link at the top of the page to see my favorite extensions and ratings on them.

Foobar 2000 is a program that will play Mp3s and many other music files. It volume balances the songs as it plays the for you. I have not used foobar lately since I started using a Logitech g15 and all the keys do not work with the program. I think it is a better program then winamp though.

FMA is a program that let's you connect your phone with your computer. I use it to send Text Messages on my phone and it is nice having a full size keyboard to text on. It can also do organizational things for you.

Winamp plays music files. I like winamp but I do not like that it is owned by AOL and it has all the extra things in it like AOL featuring XM and things like that. I use winamp daily and the song information displays on the G15 LCD and the media buttons work with it.

Open Office.org is an open source office suite, that has all the same programs as Microsoft Office Pro. There is also support for open document formats.

DVR Edit

DVR edit is a program that will edit dvr.ms files created by Windows MCE. I use this program to edit the commercials out of the shows I record.
